Me: So where were you anyway? When I was on the top of that tower, screaming out for you? Why were you absent? All I heard was the Wind! And I needed to hear from You at that very moment!
God: I was there and I was talking. I am the Wind.
Me: What the fuck do you mean you're the "wind." The "wind" said nothing to me.
God: That is because the Words that I Speak, you do not understand.
Me: Well, then you are a fucking awful communicator.
God: Or you're a fucking awful listener.
Me: Woah, you cuss?
God: Goddamn right. I meet people where they're at. Always have. I am in them. They are in me.
Me: So... wait. You're the Wind, but you're also within each person? How can that be so?
God: There is no perfect Way or Metaphor for your very finite mind, but I have placed evidence of my Nature and Way all around you: in Christ, in Ghandi, in Daoism, in Islam, in Judaism, in Buddhism, in the New Age Movement, everywhere...
Me: So you mean you were speaking through them ALL? What about their disagreements that lead to war?
God: Humans will always war; the poor you will always have with you. But I am the lone pearl of Great Price for which all else must be left behind.
Me: But that makes you our Highest Good.
God: I am.
Me: But doesn't religion lead us astray from the Highest Good.
God: Oh, the institutions, the powers, the principalities... they obscure things for sure. They are in it more for themselves than for Me. But you'll always find these organic little sprouts of new spirituality. These are the front edge, the future. One day they too, of course, will institutionalize and need to be torn down. But this is why I have always insisted in every religion that I am on the side of the poor in this Eternal Cycle, the Eternal Recurrence of the Same will to power inherent to humans.
Me: So is time linear or cyclical?
God: Both, obviously. You just have to think about eternity and soon realize it is both.
Me: So will my individual consciousness carry on after I die in this multiverse?
God: You know what's wrong with your question, don't you?
Me: (hanging head) Yes. I'm asking about the individual where there is no such thing.
God: (delighted) Hey! Look at you and your bad self (was that out of date?) I can't keep up with all the trends at my age. Ahem. What I mean to say is, "You are not far from the kingdom of God."
Me: So the quest of history is the movement from the "me" to the "we?"
God: For now it is.
Me: For now?
God: Who says the universe must have only one quest? There are many demons we need to slay, demons you cannot even dream of.
God: I was there and I was talking. I am the Wind.
